    Park officials say high surf generated by the storm damaged several pilings on the landing dock, and the pier landing ladder detached and washed away. Boaters should be aware of floating debris.

  • A North Carolina man convicted four times for digging or possessing ginseng plants in Great Smoky Mountains National Park will spend 22 weeks in jail for his latest conviction.
