Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota might be an overlooked or 'out-of-mind' national park, but it's really quite a fascinating place, from the Painted Canyon and the Little Missouri River to the remnants of Theodore Roosevelt's Elkhorn Ranch. To plan for the future of these and other sites in the park, Theodore Roosevelt staff have scheduled two public meetings for next week to discuss the planning process.

Park staff will present long-range planning concepts that will address future facility needs, prioritize infrastructure investments, and leverage partnership opportunities. Participants will have the opportunity to shape the future of Theodore Roosevelt National Park and define a new era celebrating Theodore Roosevelt’s conservation ethic.

  • An in-person open house will be held Wednesday, November 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. MT at the Medora Community Center, 465 Pacific Avenue, Medora, ND 58645. 
  • A virtual meeting will be held Thursday, November 4 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. MT using Microsoft Teams (https://bit.ly/THROCSP).

Public comments will be accepted November 1 through November 30. All interested individuals are invited to share their thoughts at: https://parkplanning.nps.gov/THROCSP, or by sending comments to: Superintendent, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, PO Box 7, Medora, ND 58645.
