Four Concession Contracts Up For Bid At Denali National Park And Preserve

Four contracts for guiding climbers in Denali National Park are up for bid/NPS

Denali National Park and Preserve officials are seeking bids for four contracts for providing mountaineering guide services in the park.

In total, the park has six contracts to extend, but two go to historical operators to provide the same kind of services that they were legally engaged in providing prior to January 1, 1979, pursuant to Section 1307 of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act. The historical operators are:

National Outdoor Leadership School

(18 clients, West Buttress of Mt. McKinley + two mountaineering trips in the old park)

Rainier Mountaineering

(23 clients, West Buttress of Mt. McKinley)

Companies interested in bidding for the other four contracts, which will run from January 1, 2016, through the end of 2025, have until January 16 to submit their applications. Those interested in bidding can find background documents at this site.

Hard copies of the prospectus will be mailed upon request for a cost recovery fee of $30.
