Trails I've Hiked: Zion National Park's Angels Landing Trail

The Angels Landing Trail in Zion National Park in Utah is one of the most talked about trails in the National Park System, due to its precarious nature high over Zion Canyon and the spectacular view of that canyon. Should you hike it when you get to the park? The following video will help you decide.

The pinnacle of the hike places you nearly 1,500 feet above the canyon floor, with spectacular views in just about all directions. But the hike is not for those who fear heights or lack stamina. Though just five miles out and back, this hike can take you four hours to complete. There are sheer drops along the upper portions of the hike, too, which increase the difficulty. Those dropoffs have, sadly, claimed some hikers down through the years, making it crucial that you are aware of both the risks and your own ability.
