Low Water Levels Hampering Opening Of Ok-A-Beh Marina At Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area

Share

Low water levels have been complicating the full opening of the Ok-A-Beh marina at Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area.

Staff at the national monument that straddles the Wyoming-Montana border said Friday they would "not be able to finish the work to open the gas docks or slips for the holiday. Due to low water conditions and rocky shore of the lake and marina complex; installing the piping for fuel and other dock work creates a safety hazard to our crews."

However, crews have been able to install the courtesy dock at the marina, and the vault toilets in the upper parking lot were open. However, "the bathrooms at the marina store will be closed and water will not be available at the marina," a park release said.
