Projects At Rocky Mountain National Park To Be Aware Of

Share

As the summer season wraps up in Rocky Mountain National Park, numerous projects are nearing completion.

Bear Lake Road

Restoration of vegetation is continuing along Bear Lake Road as part of the road reconstruction project. Visitors can expect 15 minute delays from September 9 through September 20, excluding weekends.

Chasm Falls Trail

Park trail crews are completing work on the Chasm Falls Trail along Old Fall River Road. The trail is closed Mondays through Thursdays for the remainder of September. The trail will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Wild Basin Road

Visitors can expect temporary delays along the Wild Basin Road as hazardous fuels reduction projects continue. Work includes removing dead trees, the lower limbs of remaining trees, ladder fuels, and dead and down logs and the removal of select trees adjacent to infrastructure.

Moraine Park Campground

Moraine Park Campground will be closed at noon on Monday, September 30, through noon on Friday, October 11. Weather permitting, an asphalt paving project, delayed this past spring due to snow and rain, will take place. Aspenglen Campground, which normally closes in late September, will remain open until the work in Moraine Park Campground is completed.
