Rep. Taylor Also Sent Home

Share

    Another post-election tidbit:
Representative Charles Taylor, the North Carolina Republican whose financial priorities for the National Park Service boggle the mind -- he would rather force the agency to spend $600 million it doesn't have on a dead-end road in Great Smoky Mountains National Park that few folks want and then pushes through a $9.8 million visitor center at the Blue Ridge Parkway rather than help the parkway erase its red ink -- is history.
Taylor lost to Heath Shuler, better known as the quarterback for the University of Tennessee than a politician.
