Victims Identified in Grand Teton Rafting Accident

Share

A couple from South Carolina and a woman from Louisiana have been identified as the drowning victims of the Snake River rafting accident in Grand Teton National Park.
Park officials say 63-year-old John Rizas and his wife, 58-year-old Elizabeth, from Beaufort, South Carolina, drowned along with 69-year-old Linda Clark of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Ten other passengers on the raft, which was part of a Grand Teton Lodging Company trip, were pulled from the Snake's cold, swift waters after it capsized Friday morning.
Each year commercially guided raft trips carry roughly 63,000 people down the Snake River through Grand Teton. You can find more details about the accident here.
